Garage Floor Cleaning & Maintenance

Cleaning Your Garage Floor has Never Been Easier!

The garage floor coatings we install are extremely durable and resistant to many common garage messes. Ultimately no garage floors can avoid dust, dirt, and grime build up over time. If you are someone that cleans the garage floor weekly then this may not apply, however we all know that cleaning the garage floors may only happen a couple times a year. We recommend a few great products for cleaning your garage floor coatings.

For minor spills or vehicle drippings, simply wipe them up with a paper towel or other soft cloth. Routine maintenance cleaning is best achieved with either a soft bristle broom or a commercial dust mop (available at any home improvement store). For heavy cleaning of a soiled floor, sweep away any loose debris and then mop floor with a string mop with water and CLEAR ammonia. 6 ounces of ammonia per gallon of water is all that is needed to adequately remove soiling.  If desired, the floor can be hosed out and squeegeed. For more soiled floors or stubborn oil marks a degreaser bought at your home improvement store can be used. Try a diluted mixture and increase dilution ratio as needed. Make sure to rinse with water after the solution sits for 15 minutes or so. Repeat if necessary.

Try not to use any cleaner that contains acids (citrus cleaners, vinegar, etc.) or soap-based cleaners. Soap based cleaners can leave a residue on the floor that not only detracts from the shine, but also become increasingly slippery should the floor get wet.
