This Spring, OGI teamed up with Channel 3 News to offer viewers an exciting opportunity. Participants uploaded images of their messy garage for a chance to win a full renovation by our team at Ohio Garage Interiors. Wow, did viewers deliver! Hundreds of uploads were submitted and a lucky winner was selected!

And the Winners are… Al & Chris from Stow, Ohio!

Al & Chris, an awesome couple from Stow, were chosen as the winners of the Garage Makeover Competition. OGI renovated their garage for a big reveal that would air on Channel 3! When we first met with Al & Chris, their two-car garage was so disheveled that they could only park one car inside. Tools scattered the floor, DIY garage paint was peeling from the walls, and the concrete flooring was riddled with pits from years of salt damage. It was truly a mess!
The Renovation Process

Ohio Garage Interiors team began by sorting through items with Al & Chris. Through years of experience, we’ve found that it’s best to create 3 piles: one to keep, one to donate, and one to throw out! After dividing up the items, OGI helped remove all the items and store the keepers in a portable storage unit. From there, the real work began.

The Finished Product

OGI replaced the pitted concrete with our DecoFlake stain and slip-resistant polyaspartic flooring system! Polar Ice in color, this flooring is beautiful and easy to maintain. Additionally, we use the coating along the perimeter foundation walls and concrete step leading into the house. We paired the flooring with Sherwin Williams Exterior Paint, resulting in a gorgeous, cohesive look!

Our team neatly organized their garden tools using Omni Track wall systems! Next, large garage cabinetry was installed along the back wall. We moved their extra refrigerator to the back wall and built cabinetry around it to allow for more walking space. Then, we installed a workbench with drawers to conveniently store small hand tools! Plus, under cabinet lighting!

We created a drop zone area that includes a place for shoe storage in the bottom cabinet as well as under-cabinet lighting. Drop zones are a convenient place to set down items when walking into the house and one of our most popular features requested by clients!

Lastly, one of our favorite features of Al & Chris’ new garage, we installed a hideaway hose reel. Disguised within their beautiful new cabinetry, Al & Chris have easy access to a hose whether it’s used to wash cars, quickly spray the floor down or even water plants! OGI pays keen attention to detail and doesn’t take any shortcuts. So, to top it all off, a decorative trim was added along the top of the cabinets!

Our team had so much fun working with Al & Chris. They put years into making their house feel like a home and we’re so grateful for the opportunity to play a role in that process! Now, Al & Chris have a beautiful garage interior to enjoy for years to come.
